This week we were all about crunch. We love snacks that add a bit of snap, crackle and pop to our day, especially when a group mid-afternoon yawns roll around. Here are this week’s favorite new healthy products:

Laughing Giraffe Organics Snakaroons

If you love coconut macaroons, you will go “coco” for this much healthier version. These snakaroons are non-GMO, raw, vegan, and made with zero added sugar. With their nutrient-dense ingredients, they are extremely filling but will leave you feeling satisfied and nourished. Snakaroons would also be great as an oatmeal or smoothie bowl topping. Laughing Giraffe makes unique flavors of Snakaroons such as Matcha and Aztec Chocolate to satisfy all tastebuds. Our favorites are the Lemon and the Salted Caramel. (Available at stores nationwide or online $7.99 for 1 bag.)

Natierra Chia Crunch

This little snack  has a big story to tell. When stacked together, they resemble a pile of stones. Ancient Incans practiced stone stacking to mark their trails in honor of Mother Nature. Chia Crunch is a tribute to the ancient Incan culture that current farmers now share with us. Natierra only uses organic, fair trade chia in order to foster responsible business and sustainable harvesting.  Each bag comes with brightly colored chia crisps that are addictive. Each crisp is freeze dried for a light melt-in-your-mouth feel with a crunch of chia at the end of each bite. At only 10 to 14 grams of carbs and under 100 calories per bag, they are a great little afternoon pick me up. It also fits in kid’s lunch boxes. (Available online, $10 for 1 bag.)

Jilz Crackerz

Be ready to fall in love with crackers again: Gluten-free, vegan, and paleo, these Jilz Gluten Free Crackerz are made with a special blend of seven pronounceable, all-natural ingredients and then baked to crisp perfection. We can’t stop eating them, and topping them with peanut butter, cheese and fruit. We even add some in our salads for an added crunch.  It’s hard to believe that they are also lower in carbs and higher in protein and fiber than, say, ordinary saltine crackers per serving. Bring a box to your next event to wow your friends. (Available at stores nationwide or online $6.99 for a 1 box.)

Field Roast’s Chao Slices

These slices are a game changer for vegan cheese. Each package comes like pre-sliced Kraft singles, yet these creamy and flavorful artisanal slices are all natural and dairy-free. Chao comes in three flavors: Creamy Original With Chao Tofu, Coconut Herb With Black Pepper, and Tomato Cayenne With Spicy Pepper. We put Chao to the ultimate melting test. After popping some on bread and cooking in the toaster oven, all the slices held their shape but were melted when we bit into them. We can’t wait to top everything with Chao cheese, especially Jilz Crackers! (Available at stores nationwide or online retailers.)

JimmyBar!

We only like these bars because the wrapper is a similar color to the Clean Plates logo. (Just kidding!) Simple, readable all-natural ingredients are the real reason we love JimmyBars. Each bar is made with a base of dates, almonds, honey and crisp brown rice for an extra crunch. JimmyBars keeps it real by not adding any white sugar or preservatives and keeps all ingredients non-GMO. Pick up a JimmyBar next time you need a natural flow of energy for your day. Our favorite flavor is “How About Them Apples?” which tastes like apple pie. (Available at stores nationwide or online $29.99 for a box of 12 full-size bars or 24 mini bars.)
