Yeah, we know what you’re thinking…Clean Plates is supposed to be all about healthy eating, so why are you doing a story on desserts? First of all, are we not human? Yes, we are, and desserts are part of the finer things in love, small luxuries to revel in. But, that doesn’t mean that you can eat half the strawberry layer cake, or scoff down a dozen snicker doodles. What it does mean is eating in moderation, as a treat, and choosing sweet endings that have less sugar and more healthful ingredients, such as dark chocolate, almonds, and coconut. Healthy chocolate-avocado truffles ? these were so decadent & indulging! Make them yourself ? mash 1 med. avocado until smooth, melt 1/2 cup chocolate chips melting at 30 sec. intervals in the microwave then mix with avocado & add 1/4 roughly chopped chocolate chips, cover & refrigerate mixture for 1 hour. Take 2 tablespoons cocoa powder and place on a plate. Roll 1 in. balls with your hands and then roll them in cocoa powder. Then try not to eat the whole thing ?
