I am absolutely someone who wakes up and is immediately hungry for breakfast. Usually, it’s something hearty like eggs or oatmeal I crave but come summer, my appetite changes. I still want to dig into something in the morning that fills me up but the hotter weather shifts my cravings towards lighter and brighter things.

You might be feeling the same way right now as the season changes. These 7 healthy recipes are the answer. They’re fit for summer, as they feature fresh fruit and bright flavors, but more importantly they’ll keep you satisfied through the morning.

Creamy Avocado Banana Green Smoothie from Minimalist Baker

A smoothie just might be the ultimate summer breakfast because of just how cool and refreshing it is. This one is made extra creamy thanks to avocado, which also lends healthy fats to keep you full, and is packed with other good things like spinach, banana, and almond milk.

Healthy Blueberry Muffins from Cookie and Kate

These blueberry muffins are far from your usual. They’re made with whole wheat flour, naturally sweetened with honey or maple syrup, and have got Greek yogurt tucked inside. All of this adds up to muffins that are not only protein- and fiber-packed, they’re extra moist and flavorful.

Big Cluster Peanut Butter Granola from Pinch of Yum

Granola is truly a year-round breakfast staple but I love it even more in the summer months, when I can sprinkle it over cool and creamy yogurt and pair it with in-season fruit like berries. This version gets a boost of protein from peanut butter, which also helps the other ingredients clump together to form crunchy clusters.

Hummus and Veggie Breakfast Bowls from Gimme Some Oven

A combination of hummus, quinoa, avocado, vegetables, and an egg all add up to one powerhouse meal that’s loaded with good protein, fat, and fiber. If you’re someone who loves savory breakfasts, this recipe is definitely for you.

3-Ingredient Chia Pudding from Feel Good Foodie

Chia pudding is a breakfast that’s full of good protein, fat, and fiber, not to mention something that can be tailored to your tastes. Have fun garnishing it with different fruits as they come into season, like berries, sliced peaches and plums, or even pitted cherries.
