In Los Angeles, it often seems like April showers bring May markets. Among the latest to blossom is the Autry Farmers’ Market, a collection of over 40 local and organic farmers and vendors selling produce of the wild—well, fairly tame—west outside Griffith Park’s Autry National Center of the American West. Launched by L.A. City Farm, a non-profit group that founded the Yamashiro Farmers Market, the Autry market debuted on April 28 and is now open every Saturday from 8am to noon.

Vendors include Tutti Frutti Farms, socially conscious (and delicious) Homeboy Bakery, Novy Ranch, Longshot Espresso and more, with prepared foods offered by Heirloom LA and the Crepe Kitchen. In addition to local fresh fruits and vegetables (some organic), the market will also feature regional artisan cheeses and local almond butter, honey, hummus and coffee. Members of the Autry receive 10% off at vendor booths.

After a morning of shopping, visitors can indulge in the mimosa bar at the Autry cafe or enjoy live music, ping pong and bocce ball. The museum opens to market shoppers at 10am.
