Sparks will fly this Valentine’s Day thanks to creative chefs whipping up romantic feasts citywide. Here are our two favorite options:

Il Buco (NoHo/Nolita)
47 Bond Street
Reservations: 212.533.1932

The Italians know romance, from food to music to atmosphere, and Il Bucco is no exception. Appetizers—like heirloom radicchio with blood orange—are designed to share; keep the intimacy going by sharing a pasta dish like penne with artichokes and anchovies. Candlelight and other romantic touches ensure the perfect date night setting.

HanGawi (Murray Hill)
12 E. 32nd Street
Reservations: 212.213.0077

For vegetarian couples, Valentine’s Day at HanGawi may be just the ticket. Let go of your cares as you step into the restaurant’s Zen-like space and enjoy four courses of simple, delicious food expertly prepared (the stuffed persimmons especially caught our eye). Sometimes, there’s nothing as romantic as relaxing together, and dinner at HanGawi promises to deliver. ($65 per person)
